Bodyline Model Competition.
Hello!
Well, I decided to enter the competition for the Japanese company, BODYLINE. They specialise in Lolita, Cosplay and things of that nature. Sometimes the details are kind of sketchy, so I thought I'd give you a run down of what happens if you are thinking of applying.
This years requirements are:
REQUIREMENT
AGE 13-22
TALL 150-170cm(4.92-5.58ft)
WEIGHT 40-55kg(88-121lb)
LANGUAGE JAPANESE OR ENGLISH OR CHINESE
DEADLINE May 31th,2009
PUBLICATION June 6th,2009
The extended the age so that you could be younger to apply, halfway through the competition. I don't know why they did this halfway through, but maybe they were interested in a younger candidate and wanted to make allowances for them.
This is a run through of what you do:
ROUND 1.
Register on Bodyline's main page by typing your email into the bar. You will recieve and email with a link. Sometimes the link doesn't work, so keep trying, and paste it into different browsers until it works. This will lead you to an upload form where you can input all your details and add photographs. So, get uploading!
ROUND 2.
If Bodyline are interested in you, they will interview you. So they will email you asking your MSN messenger address. If you don't have one, make one, it takes 10 minutes. They want to interview you on video with a microphone, and I already have both of those. If you don't, I'm not sure how much it matters, so just go for it anyway and text type the interview.
In the interview, they will ask you various questions. Make sure you have these measurements on hand: BUST, WAIST, HIPS, HEIGHT, SHOULDER WIDTH, WEIGHT. He asked me things like, 'What is your favourite place in Japan,' 'Have you ever been to Japan or Asia,' 'What is your favourite fashion style,' 'How come you speak some Japanese,' 'Do you have a Japanese friend in Japan.' Those sort of questions.
Also, in the interview he asked if I would be bringing a parent. I said yes. BODYLINE will pay for you, and you alone. They pay your expenses including flights, hotel etc, but if you want to bring someone else, you have to pay.
ROUND 3.
After the interview, they will ask you to send them pictures in Bodyline clothing, usually. This gives you the opportunity to send them any measurements you didn't have handy at the time.
I sent them these pictures:
